This full time automotive position is based in Port Stephens and is ideally suited to candidates located in Newcastle and the wider Hunter Region looking for a stable, long term role within an established workshop.

We are known locally for our quality workmanship, consistent workflow and professional approach, working across a wide range of vehicles from everyday cars through to 4WDs.

About the Role
This is a hands on mechanical role within a modern workshop environment, offering variety in your day to day work and the opportunity to utilise strong diagnostic skills.

You will be working as part of a small, experienced team where attention to detail and pride in your work is valued.

Port Performance is a well established motorcycle and powersports workshop located in Taylors Beach, Port Stephens. We specialise in servicing, repairs, diagnostics and performance upgrades across a wide range of motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs and personal watercraft.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a qualified Motorcycle Technician to join our team.

About the role

This is a full time position, working Monday to Friday only, giving you your weekends free.

You’ll be responsible for servicing, repairing and diagnosing a broad range of motorcycles and powersports vehicles while maintaining the high standards Port Performance is known for.

Essential requirements

• Qualified Motorcycle Technician (Certificate III Motorcycle Mechanical Technology or equivalent)
• Strong diagnostic and fault finding skills
• High attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Current full driver’s licence

Highly regarded

• Current motorcycle licence
• Personal Watercraft (PWC) licence
• Authorised Examiner (Pink Slip and Blue Slip) accreditation
• Experience diagnosing and repairing carburettor and conventional ignition systems
• Experience diagnosing and repairing modern fuel injection systems, including motorcycles with multiple ECUs
• Experience fitting and balancing motorcycle tyres
• Experience servicing and repairing jet skis, ATVs and UTVs
• Experience working on Harley Davidson, Ducati, BMW and Japanese motorcycles

Apprentice Motorcycle Technician

Port Performance is looking for a motivated Apprentice Motorcycle Technician to join our growing team.

Whether you’re looking to commence a first year apprenticeship, already have some experience, we’d love to hear from enthusiastic people who are keen to learn from experienced technicians.

 About the role

This is a full time position, working Monday to Friday only.

You’ll gain hands on experience working on a wide range of motorcycles and powersports vehicles while completing your apprenticeship in a supportive workshop environment.

 You’ll learn how to:

• Service and maintain motorcycles
• Diagnose mechanical faults
• Repair engines, brakes and suspension
• Fit and balance tyres
• Work on ATVs, UTVs and personal watercraft
• Use modern workshop equipment and diagnostic tools

 We are looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about motorcycles and the industry
• Reliable, motivated and eager to learn
• Mechanically minded with good problem solving skills
• Able to work well as part of a team
• Committed to completing a trade qualification

A current driver’s licence or motorcycle licence would be an advantage but is not essential.
